About Southern Biographer Sheridan Hill

A personal biographer (memoir writer) with 25 years' experience, I have a warm interview style and an engaging writing style.

A native of Charlotte, NC, I now live blissfully in the Western North Carolina mountains and also spend time in Kauai, HI and Los Cabos, MX.

In addition to authoring nine personal biographies ,I co-authored the 100-year corporate history of Jefferson Pilot Corporation.

I enjoy speaking about the joy of the memoir and was a featured writer at the prestigious Virginia Festival of the Book, discussing the topic, "When Life Takes A Turn." I have also presented at the Blue Ridge Book and Author Showcase.

My paperback, My Name As A Prayer, is an intimate memoir of the healing journey between Hill and her eccentric mother during the final year of her mother's life. Her mother, Charlottean Troyanne Ross, founded the city's first modelling and charm school (TRIM). New York Times best-selling author William Forstchen called My Name As A Prayer "a must-read!"

A grandmother and hospice volunteer, I enjoy enthusiastic audiences whenever she speaks about the importance of personal biography and the gift of grief. My booklet, A Brighter Day: finding hope in challenging times is a grief support aid.

In Winston-Salem, I wrote and edited the employee newsletter for Wake Forest University/Baptist Hospital (for 12,000 employees) and managed public relations for the organ donor department of North Carolina Baptist Hospital. I edited a weekly newspaper in Winston-Salem, managed public relations for the Tarheel Triad Girl Scout Council,and worked in public relations for private firms. I studied Special Education and Business Administration at Appalachian State University.

I am the mother of three marvelous children and the grandmother of four of the world's most precious children.
